SYBRIS AND MUSCLE VEST ANNOUNCE SPLIT SINGLE
CHICAGO, IL / LONDON, UK — FEBRUARY 13, 2026 — Chicago’s indie-rock stalwarts Sybris and London’s choatic noise-punks Muscle Vest, have joined forces for a devastating new split single, set for release on February 27, 2026. The collaboration captures two distinct sonic landscapes, bridged by a shared affinity for volume, grit, and honesty.
Sybris return with "Time to Lean," their first composition in 13 years. Imagine Siouxsie fronting a Cure/Mogwai supergroup, with every member suffering from limerence. Joy Division verses give way to MBV choruses, crashing into a heart-wrenching bridge about separation and loss, closing with a scary march to the unknown.
Muscle Vest delivers "Barbicide," a blistering example of their caustic, sludge-inflected punk. Known for their visceral live energy, the track is a concentrated dose of the band’s uncompromising, abrasive sound and "ugly music for lovely people" ethos.

The split will be available on February 27, 2026, via all major streaming platforms. Fans can preview the releases on Apple Music.
About Sybris:
Born in Chicago in 2003, Sybris is an indie rock quartet recognized for a sound that blends mid-'90s alternative rock with angular, experimental pop. Led by the powerful vocals of Angela Mullenhour, the group gained critical acclaim with their 2005 self-titled debut and their 2008 follow-up, Into the Trees. After a decade-long hiatus, the band reunited in 2023 to finally release their "lost" third album, Gold on Hold, which was officially launched in September 2024 via the Absolutely Kosher label. Sybris is curating the Doin’ The Dale Arts and Music Festival, February 26th to March 1st
About Muscle Vest:
Formed in London in late 2018, Muscle Vest is a high-octane five-piece known for a "monstruously brutal" blend of noise rock, post-hardcore, and punk. Their music often tackles themes of modern struggle and systemic exploitation, drawing sonic inspiration from acts like Whores, KEN Mode, and The Jesus Lizard. The band has gained a reputation for their raw, intense energy through releases like the 2022 album Hot Hot Hate and their 2024 EP Every Day for the Rest of Your Life.
